PROFILE

Katherine has found inspiration in her pursuit of music, and inspires others through her dedication to the art.

 

 

Katherine was born in Tokyo, Japan in October, 2000.  Katherine began her music training at the age of three with Martha Wallace after moving to Westchester County, New York.  At age seven, Katherine moved back to Tokyo and studied under Keiko Satoh. In 2009, Katherine relocated to Chehalis, Washington, and continued her music studies under renowned piano teacher Robin Chadwick.  In 2012, Katherine moved to the Philippines with tutelage under Dr. Raul Sunico, Dean of the UST College of Music and Chair of the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP).  Currently, Katherine resides in Tokyo, Japan, studying music under Mr. Minoru Miura.

 

 

Katherine is currently a tenth grade student at the American School in Japan, excels in her studies, and has varied interests inside and outside of the arts, including being a model (she is signed with IMG Models Worldwide). She also plays piano for her school jazz band, violin with her school strings orchestra, is a piano accompanist for other musicians and performs regularly for her church.

 

 

Katherine has competed publicly since 2010, receiving honorable mentions in 2010 and 2011, and achieved first place in 2012 at the Lewis County Piano Playoffs.  She performed as a soloist with the Pacific Northwest Chamber Orchestra in 2012.  In 2014, she received the Excellence in Performance award at the Tokyo Piano Competition and placed third at the Gyula Kiss International Piano Competition.
